Anderson Dentalcare is conveniently located in the exciting 50th and France district of Edina. We are right next to the Edina Theater with easy access parking on the main level of the South Parking Ramp. From the warm welcome you’ll receive when you set foot in our brand new office space, to comprehensive care utilizing the latest in dental technology, you will notice the exceptional level of experience and expertise from Dr. Anderson, Dr. Nahan, and the team.
Meet Dr. Anderson
Dr. Richard J Anderson graduated number one in his class both academically and clinically from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1979. He has continued to set a high standard in his dental practice in an effort to deliver excellence in care within a warm environment of trust and caring. In a search to be able to deliver the most comprehensive care possible, Dr. Anderson has studied with national and international leaders and has compiled a long list of advanced education. This includes a two year course of study in orthodontics and orthopedics and also a one year program in esthetic and cosmetic dentistry. He continues to seek out the latest in advanced techniques, and high technology to benefit his patients. In recognition of his achievements, Dr. Anderson was elected to membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Society, which includes only the top 5% of dentists nationwide. He also has been listed as a "Top Dentist" in Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine.
Dr. Anderson has also been active in giving back to the educational process, having been a clinical associate professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in the Advanced General Dentistry Program, a post graduate program for dentists to obtain additional experience and education following dental school. He held the position of clinical coordinator and has lectured in areas including orthodontics, full mouth reconstruction and office management.
Dr. Anderson came to dentistry with a background in engineering. This includes a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's in biomedical engineering. Applying engineering to dentistry enables Dr. Anderson to understand the science behind the materials and techniques he uses, as well as appreciating the importance of strong, healthy teeth and gums, and the benefits a beautiful smile can have.

Meet Dr. Nahan
Dr. Matthew Nahan has always had a passion for dentistry which was heightened when he saw
the improvement in his own smile after Invisalign treatment. Dr. Nahan grew up in Sartell, MN
where he was valedictorian of his high school class and captain of the hockey and tennis teams.
He then moved to the Twin Cities to attend the University of Minnesota where he was awarded
a B.S. in Biology with distinction and high honors, and received the Presidential Scholarship.
The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry was next, where he graduated with his Doctor
of Dental Surgery degree in 2018.
Since 2018 Dr. Nahan has practiced in the East Metro area where he was the Managing Clinical Director and lead dentist. He has developed fine attention to detail and has valued providing the highest standard of care to each and every patient. To be able to deliver the best care possible, he has continued to seek the latest dental technologies, techniques, and continuing education and has recently been certified as an Invisalign Provider. He remains passionate about helping patients see and understand all treatment options so they can make the best choices for their care.
Dr. Nahan is thrilled to be living in this area and working with Dr. Richard J. Anderson and the team at Anderson Dentalcare. Dr. Nahan looks forward to meeting and takes pride in serving the fantastic patients and families in this practice. When not working, Dr. Nahan enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Genna, their families, and their friends. He also enjoys playing sports and cheering for all Minnesota sports teams, especially the Vikings (heartbreak and all). Depending on the season, you may even run into him at the ice rink, pickleball court, or golf course. If you happen to see him out and about, don’t hesitate to say hi!

Cathy
Licensed & Certified Dental Assistant
Cathy grew up in Iowa and received her degree from Hawkeye Institute of Technology. Cathy is a licensed and certified dental assistant and has been a part of the team since 1995. Patient comfort and satisfaction is extremely important to Cathy. Her patients are like family and she takes pride in providing a high standard of care to each and every patient.
In her free time Cathy loves being with her family and husband Kelly, hiking, walking their dog Dilly, volunteering, gardening, making jewelry, eating, and crafting.
Laurie
Office Manager
Laurie is the type of person that puts patients at ease with her bright smile and cheerful attitude from the moment they walk in the front door. Her calm demeanor, patience, and great work ethic make Laurie a valued member of our team. Laurie’s family is very important to her, spending as much time with them as possible. Laurie also loves to travel and explore new places.
Jordyn
Licensed Dental Hygienist
Jordyn grew up in Winona, MN and earned her Dental Hygiene degree from Argosy University in 2013. She expanded her dental knowledge and experience in many areas within the dental field prior to joining our team part time in 2019 and continues to do so through continuing education courses. Jordyn strives to create a positive dental experience for all her patients while providing the highest level of care.
Outside of work, Jordyn treasures her time spent with family. She resides in Prior Lake with her husband and daughter. As a family, they enjoy traveling, baking and being outside.
Katie
Licensed Dental Hygienist
Katie grew up in Maple Grove, Minnesota and currently lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Brycen. Katie obtained her dental hygiene degree from Normandale Community College and previously earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biokinetics at Bethel University. Katie grew up coming with her family to Anderson Dentalcare from a very young age. She feels so fortunate and excited to join the team that had made her dental experience such a positive one! Katie has a passion for knowing her patients on a personal level and educating them on how to maintain a healthy and beautiful smile. Outside of the office, Katie enjoys boating, playing volleyball, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
Shannon
Licensed & Certified Dental Assistant
Shannon has been Dr. Nahan’s right-hand since 2022. She earned her dental assisting degree from Herzing University here in Minneapolis and has been assisting since 2018. Shannon runs all of our social media accounts and is a very valuable part of the team! Born and raised in White Bear Lake, Shannon loves to spend her time outdoors especially at the lake with her friends and family. When she’s not at work, Shannon loves to cook, bake, workout and spend time with her friends.
