Meet Dr. Anderson

Dr. Richard J Anderson graduated number one in his class both academically and clinically from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1979. He has continued to set a high standard in his dental practice in an effort to deliver excellence in care within a warm environment of trust and caring. In a search to be able to deliver the most comprehensive care possible, Dr. Anderson has studied with national and international leaders and has compiled a long list of advanced education. This includes a two year course of study in orthodontics and orthopedics and also a one year program in esthetic and cosmetic dentistry. He continues to seek out the latest in advanced techniques, and high technology to benefit his patients. In recognition of his achievements, Dr. Anderson was elected to membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Society, which includes only the top 5% of dentists nationwide. He also has been listed as a "Top Dentist" in Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine.

Dr. Anderson has also been active in giving back to the educational process, having been a clinical associate professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in the Advanced General Dentistry Program, a post graduate program for dentists to obtain additional experience and education following dental school. He held the position of clinical coordinator and has lectured in areas including orthodontics, full mouth reconstruction and office management.

Dr. Anderson came to dentistry with a background in engineering. This includes a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's in biomedical engineering. Applying engineering to dentistry enables Dr. Anderson to understand the science behind the materials and techniques he uses, as well as appreciating the importance of strong, healthy teeth and gums, and the benefits a beautiful smile can have.

Meet Dr. Nahan

Dr. Matthew Nahan's journey in dentistry began with a personal experience—his own smile transformed by Invisalign treatment. Raised in Sartell, MN, he excelled in academics and sports, graduating as valedictorian and captaining his high school hockey and tennis teams. He pursued his passion for biology at the University of Minnesota, earning a B.S. with distinction and high honors, supported by the Presidential Scholarship. His dental journey continued at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2018.

Known for his compassionate and gentle approach, Dr. Nahan prioritizes patient comfort and care. His warm and welcoming demeanor instantly puts patients at ease, making even the most anxious individuals feel comfortable during their dental visits. Dr. Nahan’s dedication to staying updated with modern dentistry ensures he offers the latest techniques and technologies. From routine check-ups to complex procedures, he tailors treatment plans to each patient's needs, always putting their well-being first.

As part of Anderson Dentalcare, Dr. Nahan takes pride in serving his community alongside Dr. Richard J. Anderson and the team. Outside the office, he cherishes time with his wife, Genna, and sons, James and Tyler, enjoying sports and supporting Minnesota teams, especially the Vikings. Whether on the ice rink, pickleball court, or golf course, Dr. Nahan's passion for life shines through.

Shannon

Licensed & Certified Dental Assistant

Shannon has been Dr. Nahan's right-hand since 2022. Assisting since 2018, she earned her degree from Herzing University in Minneapolis. Always aiming to exceed expectations, Shannon strives to create the perfect patient experience at every dental appointment. When she's not working, you can find Shannon enjoying local restaurants in her neighborhood of NE Minneapolis, attending a Solidcore class, or cooking a home-cooked meal.

Sandy

Patient Coordinator

Sandy hung up her corporate hat, and in 2024 she joined our team as our patient coordinator. Dentistry is a new field for her and she is eager to learn. Sandy enjoys getting to know patients that have been with Anderson Dentalcare for years, and helping new patients feel comfortable and confident that they are in good hands with the team. When Sandy isn’t at work, she loves to exercise and be outdoors. To recharge her battery, Sandy enjoys reading, traveling, crafting, and spending time with family and friends.

Danielle

Treatment Coordinator & Registered Dental Hygienist

Danielle grew up in Savage, MN and earned her Dental Hygiene degree from Normandale Community College in 2020. She had previously earned her Bachelor’s degree in Advertising before entering the dental field in 2016. Danielle is passionate about patient care and making sure everyone has a positive and comfortable experience at their dental appointments. She splits her time at the clinic between seeing patients for hygiene appointments and coordinating treatment plans and insurance. Danielle currently lives in Bloomington with her husband, Peter. She enjoys crafting, organizing, being outside, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Katie

Registered Dental Hygienist

Katie has been part of the Anderson dentalcare team since July of 2021. Not only so, but she grew up coming with her family to Anderson Dentalcare from a very young age and feels fortunate to be part of the team that made her experience as a patient such a positive one! Katie obtained her dental hygiene degree from Normandale Community College and previously earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biokinetics at Bethel University. Katie has a passion for knowing her patients on a personal level and educating them on how to maintain a healthy and beautiful smile! Outside of the office, Katie enjoys boating, playing volleyball, and spending quality time outdoors with her husband, Brycen, and one year old son, Beckham.

Jordyn

Registered Dental Hygienist

Jordyn grew up in Winona, MN and earned her Dental Hygiene degree from Argosy University in 2013. She expanded her dental knowledge and experience in many areas within the dental field prior to joining our team in 2019 and continues to do so through continuing education courses. Jordyn strives to create a positive dental experience for all her patients while providing the highest level of care. Outside of work, Jordyn treasures her time spent with family. She resides in Prior Lake with her husband, two daughters and son.

Jamie

Registered Dental Hygienist

Jamie grew up in Woodbury, Minnesota and currently lives in Bloomington with her husband Colin, two children Flynn and Isla and their dog Lola. Jamie obtained her Dental Hygiene degree from Normandale Community College and had previously earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing at St. Cloud State University. Jamie is passionate about providing the best care possible for her patients and educating them to help achieve optimal oral health. Outside of work, Jamie enjoys being active with her two young children, spending time with family and friends, traveling and cheering on the Chicago Cubs!
